Ever since I was a girl I have been passionate about skincare. As my knowledge grew I became concerned about the ingredients in conventional products which drive me to start Skin Blossom. Our missiion is to make organic skincare affordable to all as we believe that everyone is entitled to healthy, beautiful skin. I have always been environmentally and ethicaly aware, even more so after completing my degree in wildlife Conservation. A few years ago my husband read about a man who was a teacher in natural skincare. After consultations with him, I started to produce my own creams and was so excited in doing so. But it wasn't quite so simple. I spent over a year trying to perfect my first product! Perfecting skincare formulas really is a science and ensuring products are as natural as possible means there are big ingredient limitations. During this time I spoke to numerous health shops and it soon became clear there was a huge need for affordable organic skincare, so I went to a manufacturer to ensure we could meet demand.
The Skin Blossom Organic Bloom hand cream finally launched as a sole product in February 2008. Some people thought it was strange to only have one product in the range but that was all my life savings would stretch to! Retailers loved the product which soon filtered down to their customers - especially when it was seen in top magazines like 'Heat' and 'Woman'. It was a really exciting time but because i was still working full-time in my previous job I was absolutely exhausted. The success though meant I could launch more products - the body wash and body lotion launched in summer 2008 and the facial cleanser and mousturiser in February 2009. I'm so pleased with the range, and although it's only five products, it includes all you need for a basic face and body care regime. The products are really effective as they contain beautiful ingredients sourced from nature. Our hand cream was a finalist for the best organic body care product in the Natural & Organic Awards 2009 which is a great testimoney to the quality. As the range is certified by the Soil Association, people can be confident of the organic integrity and safety of ingredients to them and the environment. Making products thaat are cruelty free is also important to us which is why our products are registered with the Vegan Society.
So what does the future hold for Skin Blossom Organic Bloom range? Well this year involves telling poeple about the range. I visit retailer shops to meet their customers and we exhibited at the Vitality Show in March, it's amazind to see poele's posetive reactions. We are also at the Natural & Organic Show in 2010 which is really exciting. Alongside this we are looking at product development to give people even more access to gorgeous, safe and affordable skincare.
