Mrs Crimble's

Mark Speller, ND of Stiletto Foods (makers of Mrs Crimble's) tells us about his company

Stilletto Foods was started over 20 years ago selling Biscuits/Cookies under the Mrs Crimble's brand name. Long before the days of Celebrity Chef product ranges the Mrs Crimble's range of 'Home Recipe Biscuits' brand was endorsed by Fanny Craddock who was shown on the packaging to claim 'they're the very best'. However, today Mrs Crimble's are well known for their range of Wheat Free, Gluten free, and Dairy Free range of products. We've lost none of our attention to quality over the years and feel sure that today we would still find favour with Fanny's tastebuds.

Our roots

Originally we started life selling our products in London from the back of a small fleet of vans. The products were displayed on racks and re-stocked every four weeks by a visiting salesman with a van full of goodies. Today we can be found in all good independent farm shops, health stores and delicatessens and more recently on the 'Free From' or speciality sections of the more well known supermarkets. Through a series a helpful distributors our products can be found throughout the UK and Ireland.When it comes to food it seems that we now live in a world where the choice has come down to one of either, bland and characterless manufactured food or, too clever for its own good designer food. I strongly believe that there is a middle ground, where good quality products can be eaten everyday without paying a huge price premium. This is the vision we hold for our Mrs. Crimble's range where we strive for better taste, better eating and a better quality product than those which others can offer.

Our approach to Packaging

Whereas others will try and confuse with re-cycled claims or carbon footprint symbols, our position is simple - we will try and use less packaging to start with! We are proud of our products and are happy for you to see what you are buying. If at all possible we will avoid the cakes in a tray in a foil in an over wrap in a box, etc. etc. This means that your biscuits or cakes may be a little squashed or even broken, please accept my apologies if this has happened, eight layers of packaging would have prevented this but I assure you that they will still taste as delicious.

As Managing Director I try to answer all our consumer enquiries wherever possible. We try to help whenever we can, and when we can't we won't lie to you. Sometimes we get it wrong and we'll do our utmost to fix it, but I hope you find that the Mrs Crimble's range stands for an honest, down-to-earth approach to eating. We are only a small company so if you give us a ring you will speak to a real person without having to negotiate a series of 'press 2 for sales' etc.
