Gram or channa dahl is a member of the chick pea family
which mills into a fine yellow flour which is a rich,
natural and glutem free source of protein and dietary fibre.
Recipe
Onion bhajias: 75g gram flour 2 tsp cumin
seeds 1 tsp ground coriander 1 tsp turmeric
½ tsp salt ½ tsp mixed spice 4 tbsp
water 100g sliced onion 25g grated potato 5 tbsp
oil
Mix together the gram flour and all the spices.
Add water to make a smooth batter. Add sliced onions and
grated potatoes and mix well. Heat oil in a heavy based
frying pan and gently drop in spoonfuls of the mixture. Cook
until golden brown on all sides. Remove from oil and drain
before serving.
